The Black-capped chickadee is a small, energetic North American songbird known for its distinctive black cap and throat, white cheeks, and gray back with buffy sides, often seen at bird feeders and in woodlands. It's famous for its "chick-a-dee-dee-dee" call, ability to lower its body temperature in winter, and impressive spatial memory for caching food.
