Dream fire Tanisha Wright in WNBA’s 3rd coach firing since playoffs began
Wright is the third WNBA coach to be fired in the past few weeks. Curt Miller was let go in Los Angeles and Teresa Weatherspoon parted ways with Chicago. Miller was only in his second year with the Sparks and Weatherspoon completed her first in Chicago. The Dream will being its search for a new coach immediately.

One week after the Atlanta Dream were eliminated from the WNBA playoffs, the team announced Wednesday they are parting ways with coach Tanisha Wright. Wright took over as the Dream's head coach to start out the 2022 season.

Wright, who spent 14 years in the WNBA as a player, did not finish a season with a winning record during her time in charge of the Dream, guiding Atlanta to a 48-68 record overall in her time as coach. Atlanta finished eighth this season with a 15-25 record, with the Dream's last winning record coming back in 2018 under Nicki Collen.
WNBA Team Fires Head Coach Despite Playoff Appearance
Despite clinching a spot in this season's WNBA playoffs, the Atlanta Dream have fired head coach Tanisha Wright. Wright’s three-year run in Atlanta comes to an end after the Dream finished the 2024 season with a 15-25 record. Unfortunately for them, their postseason was short-lived, as they were swept 2-0 by the New York Liberty in the first round.
