One film on Baldwin by Rory Kennedy and another on cinematographer Halyna Hutchins by her close friend Rachel Mason are in production, and drawing attention from New Mexico prosecutors.

"Rust" star Alec Baldwin arrived at a Santa Fe courthouse Monday for a pretrial hearing ahead of his involuntary manslaughter trial.

In a full turn toward television, Baldwin was perfectly cast on NBC's “30 Rock” as Jack Donaghy a conservative and acerbic network executive whose sparring with Liz Lemon, the show's creator and star, was a huge part of the series' appeal. Baldwin would win two Emmys for the role, and more acclaim than he'd received in years.

Baldwin, the star and co-producer of the Western, was pointing a revolver at Hutchins during a rehearsal in a small church on the movie set at Bonanza Creek Ranch when the gun went off, killing her and wounding director Joel Souza. Baldwin has said he pulled back the hammer — but not the trigger — and the gun fired.

The trial, scheduled to start with jury selection on Tuesday, will examine whether the actor committed involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of the movie’s cinematographer.
