The Trinamool Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Union minister Sukanta Majumdar for his alleged remarks about the state police. The party has also protested against the alleged excesses by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

The TMC leaders complained that despite giving prior information to the Election Commission of India (ECI), no official was available to meet them at the poll panel's office

The TMC sought West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar's unconditional apology “for insulting the State Emblem of India in furtherance of his oblique political agendas.”
