New Delhi: Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, on Wednesday strongly condemned Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's comments on the treatment of minorities in India, calling the remarks "ridiculous" and hypocritical.

The Ministry of external affairs said countries commenting on minorities in India should first review their own records.

Recently, Khamenei sparked controversy in India over remarks he made about the treatment of Indian Muslims. India reacted strongly to Khamenei's remarks, calling them "misinformed and unacceptable."
