The suspect who was arrested for a carjacking and police shooting was released on his own recognizance without bond on Wednesday.The carjacking took place just after midnight on Monday at Ann Arbor Lane where a 2020 white Dodge Charger was taken by two armed suspects at gunpoint.

IMPD released body cam footage of a shooting in which officers killed a 20-year-old alleged carjacking suspect on the city’s northeast side in May.

A brief chase following the theft led to the two men in the car, Tadarius Nichols and Tremayne French, jumping out of the car and running on foot. Nichols was caught, but French started firing at police outside Cornerstone Prep Academy;
