Youths on scooters and on foot crisscrossed the city in search of Israeli fans, punching and kicking them and then fleeing quickly to evade police, said the mayor.

Dutch officials said that attackers had assaulted Israelis, and the Israeli Embassy in the Netherlands said that some victims had been kicked or beaten. The attacks unfolded over several hours in multiple locations, with many taking place in the hours after the game ended.

Israeli soccer fans were violently attacked in Amsterdam on Thursday night in what Dutch authorities are calling an antisemitic incident. Police say at least 62 people have been arrested in connection to the attacks.
