The Quincy Fire ignited near Oroville Quincy Highway and Forbestown Road in the Wall Fire footprint. Cal Fire initially said it had burned 125 acres as of 2 p.m., but that acreage was later reported to be around 90 acres. The fire had expanded with "a moderate to dangerous rate of spread," Cal Fire said.

Forward progress has been stopped for a fire burning in southeastern Butte County that forced officials to issue evacuation warnings on Thursday.

Quincy Fire initially started today at 1:13 p.m. in Butte County. It has burned 90 acres after being active for seven hours, an increase of five acres since the last update. As of Thursday evening, 10% of the fire was brought under containment by a fire crew of 300.
