Former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson were attacked Friday evening while walking near their home in New York City, according to a spokesperson for Paterson.

Mr. Paterson and his stepson suffered minor injuries in a street attack on Friday. The former governor was not believed to have been targeted in the assault, the police said.

Two young teenagers were arrested late Saturday night for the assault of former New York Gov. David Paterson. Police charged a 12-year-old boy with gang assault in the second degree and a 13-year-old boy with gang assault in the third degree,
