Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday slammed the Karnataka government for its apathy towards India's Silicon Valley in Bengaluru that is leading to many investors shifting away from the state

The union minister’s comments were “unwarranted,” as Bengaluru is globally renowned for its technology and startup ecosystem, MB Patil told ET. The two ministers sparred on the microblogging site after Goyal’s comments at an event in Delhi on Monday went viral.

The Union Minister said the Modi-government has a vision and commitment to build modern city infrastructure across Bharat, unlike the Congress, whose top leadership derides the country and its achievements even on foreign soil.

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal also alleged that the state government is neglecting Tumakuru township.
