The United States Postal Service (USPS) will temporarily suspend mail delivery on January 9, 2025, to honor the late President Jimmy Carter.

Federal offices and agencies will be closed for former President Jimmy Carter's funeral. Unlike normal holidays, some agencies and most businesses will still be open on Jan. 9.

Following the death of former President Jimmy Carter, President Joe Biden declared a national day of mourning on Thursday Jan. 9, the day of Carter's funeral at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
