Close to one week after Stop & Shop announced a cyberattack affecting its stores, inventory on shelves remains limited.

On Friday the parent company of Stop & Shop, Ahold Delhaize, released a statement that said an investigation is being conducted after a recent cybersecurity issue within its U.S. network. Their security team along with outside cybersecurity experts are working to detect the issue and take steps to further protect their systems.

Kaitlyn Krasselt, a spokeswoman for the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection which regulates pharmacies in the state, said the agency was aware of delays in processing prescriptions at Stop & Shop pharmacies last Friday, but that the backlog has since been resolved.

Efforts to investigate the cybersecurity “issue” prompted the grocery giant's parent company to disconnect some systems to protect them.

The chain's grocery stores are short on certain products as the parent company deals with an undisclosed cybersecurity incident.
