Planned strikes by RMT staff on the London Underground have been called off following talks over pay between the union and Transport for London. Industrial action by the RMT was due to begin this evening.

Before suspending the strikes on Friday, RMT previously said they were prompted to take strike action after rejecting a pay deal, which they deemed as “wholly inadequate” that left a large number of staff excluded from collective bargaining, which is negotiations between employees and employers.

However, strikes by Tube drivers belonging to the Aslef union are still scheduled to go ahead - and will almost certainly shut the London Underground next Thursday, November 7, and the following Tuesday, November 12.

Planned strikes on the London Underground have been suspended following talks over pay between the Aslef union and Transport for London (TfL). Industrial action was due to begin on Thursday and a walkout was also planned for next Tuesday.

Londoners can let out a sigh of relief after all the upcoming Tube strikes have been called off by Aslef. It comes after the RMT union had already called off its walk-out which would have impacted Tube travel this week after reaching an agreement over pay.

Tomorrow’s Tube strikes have been cancelled as services will run as normal across the London Underground network.In a radical U-turn Tube Strikes will no longer go ahead tomorrow (Thursday, November 7th) following talks between Aslef and TfL.
