A man was fatally shot outside the St. John Bosco High School stadium, where he came to watch his son play in a youth football game, authorities said.

A father arriving to attend his young son’s youth football game died after being shot in the parking lot, California sheriff’s officials told news outlets. The man was shot in Bellflower at about 8:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. He later died at a hospital.

One person was killed Saturday morning in a shooting in a parking lot at Saint John Bosco High School in Bellflower. The shooting was reported at about 8:30 a.m. in the 13600 block of Bellflower Boulevard.
