SWAT officers were called in to help Long Beach police with a gunman whom authorities accuse of killing two people.

The Long Beach Police Department sent a SWAT team to a neighborhood on Monday morning when two people died after a gunman opened fire. The apparent shooting happened at about 11:15 a.m. in the 300 block of East 63rd Street.

A police standoff ended Monday night, Sept. 16, in Long Beach after police found the suspect dead inside a home. When police entered the home, they saw a man, who is believed to be the suspect in a situation that left two people dead, dead after shooting himself, according to police.

Officers were in a standoff Monday afternoon with a man sought in connection with two deaths in a Long Beach neighborhood.
