Honda released one of the more interesting concepts at last year’s CES with two Honda Zero prototypes: the Saloon and the Space-Hub. It promised to come back in a year with something a little closer to production. But rather than temper those space-age design elements, Honda leaned into them. Way in.

A year ago, at CES, Honda kicked off the year shocking everyone with a wedge-shaped EV concept that it called the “0-series.” This all-black, twin-gullwing concept car was said to be a preview of Honda’s full self-developed EV efforts, unlike the GM-based Honda Prologue meant to be a stopgap until this car was up and running.

At CES in Las Vegas today, Honda showed off its promised new battery-electric Honda Zero prototypes. The first is an SUV based on its Space-Hub concept, called the Honda 0 SUV. The second is a sedan based on its Saloon concept, called the Honda 0 Saloon.

Honda has debuted a new pair of EV prototypes at this year's CES show, previewing what we can expect from two new production EVs the company is working to introduce by 2026.

Honda teased its first two homegrown EVs with the Series 0 Saloon and Space-Hub. But now at CES 2025, those vehicles are getting one step closer to production by graduating from concepts to prototypes while getting updated names along the way: the Honda 0 Saloon and 0 SUV.

Because, yes, Honda has already revealed its plans for the upcoming 0 Series electric vehicle range, showcasing what it called the Saloon and the Space-Hub at last year’s show... complete with eerily similar concept cars.

Now, in an American market where interest in EVs is less than expected, Honda is hoping a totally new approach will find traction with consumers. Unlike the “concept” cars we saw last year, the “prototypes” pictured here represent something pretty close to what we’ll see on dealer lots.
