London Underground drivers have called off plans to carry out strikes on the Tube network just days before they were supposed to start.Train drivers’ union Aslef announced on Tuesday (5 November) that they were suspending strike action due to take place on 7 and 12 November across the London Underground after new negotiations and an “improved offer” from transport bosses.

Ahead of the talks, which will involve both unions and TfL negotiators, Finn Brennan, Aslef’s London district organiser, told The Standard: “Aslef are continuing to meet with London Underground to try to find a resolution to our dispute that would give our members a fair deal on pay and working conditions.

Aslef, which represents around 2,000 Tube drivers, has now called off the strikes following an “improved offer” from TfL. It comes just days after the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) also called off strikes planned for November.

TfL has warned that on some days Tube services will finish earlier than normal, and "severe disruption" on the London Underground is expected. Some DLR, London Overground and Elizabeth Line services may not stop at certain stations with Tube lines, due to possible station closures, TfL has added.
