One of the most sought after locations for the eclipse was remote Easter Island, or Rapa Nui as its called by residents, where crowds of skywatchers from around the world gathered to watch the celestial event. Even the threat of clouds couldn't dampen their excitement.

An annular solar eclipse will create a “ring of fire” phenomenon in the sky over parts of South America on Wednesday. A partial eclipse will appear over Hawaii.
