A Henry County deputy who initiated a police chase that led to a fatal three-vehicle crash in Muncie will not face criminal charges, according to the Delaware County prosecutor.

MUNCIE, Ind. — The Delaware County prosecutor is not filing charges against a Henry County sheriff's deputy involved in a police chase that ended in a deadly crash.

In what prosecutors said was a “very close call,” no charges will be filed against the Henry County Sheriff’s deputy involved in a 2024 car chase and fatal crash

"There has to be a balance struck between the need for public safety and the need to apprehend criminals who flee," the prosecutor said.
