The Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers are extending their operating agreement with Broward County for five more years, ensuring that the team remains in the market through 2033 and likely well beyond.

The Broward County Commission voted today in favor of amending and extending the Arena Operating Agreement with the Florida Panthers, whose lease would’ve expired in 2028.

It was all for a good cause. The Cats Classic Golf Tournament presented by BioStem Technologies benefited the Florida Panthers Foundation, which focuses on children’s health and education, veterans affairs, growing the sport of hockey, and raising awareness for the endangered Florida panther.
