LONDON (Reuters) - Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will arrive in Britain on Monday for a two-day state visit hosted by King Charles and during which he will also meet Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is seeking deeper ties with wealthy Gulf states.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani will begin their state visit on Tuesday.

The emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, is set to arrive in Britain on Monday for a two-day state visit hosted by King Charles. It will be al-Thani's ninth official visit to the UK since he came to power in 2014.

The Princess of Wales is set to play a role in the Emir of Qatar’s state visit to the UK next week. Kate, who is recovering from cancer, will join her husband the Prince of Wales in greeting Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the first of his three wives, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, at Kensington Palace on December 3.
