Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has not always been the biggest proponent for paying college football players and embracing what is to come in the sport,

Dabo Swinney will coach in one the most significant rivalry games of his career on Saturday afternoon when Clemson hosts South Carolina with possible College Football Playoff implications on the line.

Clemson and South Carolina renew their football rivalry Saturday in the 121st meeting between the Tigers and Gamecocks. Clemson's Dabo Swinney previewed the matchup, which will be jus the seventh in the history of the series between two ranked teams.

The Tigers are hosting the Gamecocks in what will likely be the highest ranked rivalry game in the country next weekend.

When Clemson athletic director Graham Neff came to Dabo Swinney earlier this year with ESPN's idea of moving the annual rivalry game against South Carolina to Black Friday, Swinney shot down the idea on the spot.
