A giant Norway spruce that will serve as this year's Rockefeller Christmas tree is en route to New York City from its tiny Massachusetts hometown

For more than eight decades, the erection of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has represented the beginning of the holiday season for New Yorkers and the 60 million tourists visiting over that period. The tree lighting ceremony, set for December 4, will be broadcast live on NBC.
