A waterline break at Kingsport’s water filtration plant led to several customers losing water on Wednesday morning, according to the city. The City of Kingsport issued a news release at 12:35 p.m. stating that the waterline has been repaired and crews are working to restore service.

Reach, the city’s emergency alert system, Kingsport sent out approximately 19,000 calls to residents and businesses notifying them of the boil water advisory.

Elective surgeries at Holston Valley Medical Center and Indian Path Community Hospital have been suspended Wednesday due to a waterline break in Kingsport. Ballad Health stated that elective surgeries at both facilities would be suspended for the rest of the day.
